Here we go! Como agree deal with Borussia Dortmund for Yan Couto transfer
Cesc Fàbregas' project is gaining ever more serious momentum.
Details: According to Fabrizio Romano with his trademark Here we go, Como have reached a verbal agreement with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of right-back Yan Couto. The Italian club will pay €2 million for the loan, with a buy option set at over €20 million. The Brazilian is set to travel to Italy on Wednesday for his medical and contract signing.

Negotiations between the clubs were anything but straightforward: the deal had previously fallen through over financial terms, but both sides returned to the table and found a compromise. Couto never managed to secure a regular spot in Dortmund’s starting XI, with Julian Ryerson locking down the right-back position and notching up 18 assists over the season. Due to a lack of playing time, the Brazilian even missed out on the 2026 World Cup, failing to make the national team squad.
Borussia acquired Couto from Manchester City two years ago on a “loan with obligation to buy” deal worth €25 million, and now send him to Italy under almost the same terms.
