Chelsea continues its remarkably aggressive activity in the transfer market, with the club targeting a vast array of young talent from around the globe.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea has finalized the transfer of 19-year-old Genk goalkeeper Mike Penders. The deal is valued at €20 million, and the Belgian shot-stopper is set to sign a long-term contract with the Blues.
However, Penders will not immediately join Chelsea. He will remain on loan at Genk for the upcoming season and will make the move to London in the summer of 2025.
Penders has started the new season as Genk's first-choice goalkeeper, featuring in two matches and conceding three goals.
Just a few days ago, Chelsea announced the signing of Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal. In addition to him, the team already has Robert Sanchez, Djordje Petrovic, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcus Bettinelli, and Lucas Bergstrom.
