Henry Martín Ruled Out of América Clash With Tigres Due to Injury
Club América will be without their captain and main striker, Henry Martín, for their top-of-the-table Liga MX clash against Tigres this weekend. The forward has been dealing with Achilles tendonitis in his left foot and did not train with the rest of the squad on Tuesday.
Martín recently traveled to Guadalajara for a second medical opinion at Dr. Rafael Ortega’s clinic, according to Fox Sports México. The injury, which has bothered him throughout the Clausura 2025, will keep him sidelined for Matchday 13. His status for the Concachampions quarter-final first leg against Cruz Azul on April 1 remains uncertain.
América will, however, welcome back their international players. Luis Malagón, Israel Reyes, and Ramón Juárez return from duty with Mexico, while other internationals are also rejoining the squad. Midfielder Diego Valdés will be one of the last to report, having started for Chile in their draw with Ecuador.
Facing Tigres without their top scorer is a major test for André Jardine’s team. With first place on the line, América must find new solutions up front to maintain momentum in the title race.
