Gignac Slams Critics: “Chicharito Is Mexico’s Top Export to Europe”
Tigres striker André-Pierre Gignac has come to the defense of Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, pushing back against the wave of criticism aimed at the Chivas forward. Speaking to Fox Sports, Gignac expressed disbelief over how the Mexican media and fans have treated one of their most accomplished players.
“He played for Real Madrid, Manchester United, Leverkusen… he scored goals everywhere. Maybe he has the best European career of any Mexican,” said Gignac.
The Frenchman also praised Chicharito’s return to Chivas, emphasizing his impact on younger players and his commitment to finishing his career at the club he loves. “He came back with love, and they’re killing him. If he’s working hard and giving his all, he deserves support,” Gignac added.
Although Chicharito has struggled to make an impact since rejoining Guadalajara, Gignac believes his strong mentality and experience still make him a valuable figure in Liga MX.
