Tigres in Advanced Talks to Sign Argentina World Champion Ángel Correa
Tigres looks to make a splash in the market and is in advanced negotiations to sign the Argentine forward Ángel Correa, currently with Atlético de Madrid and part of the world champion squad with Argentina in 2022.
There are already contacts with the player's entourage, and the Spanish club is willing to sell him for an accessible sum, considering that his contract expires in June 2026, according to exclusive information from SuperDeportivo, of the Mexican newspaper AM.
Correa has reportedly given the green light to the operation, and the parties are now negotiating the terms of the contract that would link him to the team of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. If completed, it would be one of the most significant signings of the next Liga MX tournament.
The attacker, born in Rosario, 30 years old, debuted with San Lorenzo where he was a Copa Libertadores champion in 2014. With the Cholchoneros, he won the Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup in 2018 and La Liga in 2021, while with the Albiceleste, he conquered the Copa América 2021 and the World Cup in Qatar.
