Helman Mkhalele: Bafana Bafana will go to the World Cup with the aim of winning every match and not pick games they might or might not win

Bafana Bafana cannot pick countries which they have a chance to beat in their World Cup group based on those nations’ standing in global football.

There is a culture of aligning greatness of a nation based in world football based on their popularity and what stars they have so they gain some respect from opponents.

This is what Bafana Bafana assistant Mkhalele says South Africa should gauge against at next year’s World Cup tournament.

“Our mindset should be that we go out there and make sure that we go for three points in each and every game,” said the Hugo Broos right hand man, as per Themba Tshabalala.

“Even the teams that are still going to play Playoffs are strong. So, we mustn’t undermine teams by saying we’ll pick three points against them.

Mkhalele was also amazed by the fact that Bafana will play the opening match against co-hosts Mexico.

“This is a very interesting draw in a fact that we played an opening game in 2010 against Mexico and here we are again, we go to Mexico, and we open against them,” said Mkhalele.

“Also, when you look at teams like Korea, they pose a different style of play and different type of mentality. They have also been consistent in World Cups. So, we are anticipating to play very tough matches.”
