Heartwarming moment: Trent Alexander-Arnold reunites with childhood coach
A touching reunion took place after Liverpool's FA Cup match against Accrington Stanley. Reds defender Trent Alexander-Arnold shared warm hugs and smiles with John Doolan, a coach for Accrington who had once been Trent’s childhood coach. The heartwarming moment was captured and shared by Optus Sport on their X account.
In the video, the player and coach are seen embracing warmly and chatting cheerfully. Later, Doolan led Trent to the stands to introduce him to someone, possibly a friend or family member.
“I said before the game that I had coached Trent when he was six or seven and I don’t know whether he remembers it. Diane his mum probably would remember as she used to bring him to the training sessions. At the end of the game I didn’t see Trent. I walked across to our fans and he turned up behind me in flip-flops and a big coat and just said "I remember". Then we just started chatting like I’d only been talking to him last week. He is such a wonderful and humble guy,” Doolan shared.
Liverpool secured a dominant 4–0 victory over Accrington Stanley in the match, with Alexander-Arnold scoring one of the goals.
