Yesterday at the Paris Olympic Games, the first badminton finals took place. In the women's doubles final, representatives from China faced off against South Korea. The Chinese duo dominated their opponents (21-8, 21-11) to claim the gold medals.

However, the joyous news did not end there for one of the Chinese players. Right after the award ceremony, Liu Yuchen, Huang Yaqiong's boyfriend, came onto the court, knelt down, and proposed to her with a ring in hand. Huang Yaqiong, of course, couldn't refuse, especially in front of 9,000 spectators.

It is worth noting that Liu Yuchen is also a participant in the Olympics, playing badminton in the doubles event.

Huang Yaqiong expressed her double joy over the events that transpired.

"Today, I became an Olympic champion and got engaged. I think the ring fits my finger perfectly."

This gold medal is the first in Huang Yaqiong's career. She won silver at the previous Games in Tokyo. Her fiancé, Liu Yuchen, also won silver in the previous competitions but did not advance past the group stage in these Games.
