Hearts of Oak Coach Didi Dramani Highlights Importance of Set Pieces After Win Over Vision FC

Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has stressed the crucial role set pieces play in modern football following his side’s tight 1–0 win over Vision FC on Saturday.

The Phobians secured all three points thanks to a 41st-minute header from Mawuli Wayo, a goal that came directly from a well-crafted set-piece routine at the University of Ghana Stadium. Reflecting on the performance, Dramani highlighted how important such moments have become in today’s game.

“Our trump card is working on set pieces because the set-pieces game has become very fundamental in the modern trends,” he said. “When the match becomes tight, you can rely on set pieces to break it open.”

The former Black Stars assistant coach added that Hearts of Oak could have made even more of their opportunities from dead-ball situations.

“I think we should have scored more than two from our set-piece play,” Dramani added.

With the victory, Hearts of Oak move up to fourth place on the league table with 21 points. The team will now prepare for their Matchday 13 fixture away at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, where they take on Karela United.
