New worries have emerged for the family of Liverpool star Luis Díaz, as his father, Luis Manuel Díaz, was hospitalized due to complaints of chest pain, according to the Daily Mail.

Luis Manuel was admitted to the Cardiovascular Surgery Institute, where he is scheduled to undergo a heart catheterization procedure. However, initial reports suggest that the situation is not severe. Doctors suspect that the chest pain may have resulted from muscle strain, and the family denies that he suffered a heart attack.

"Luis Manuel Diaz Jimenez is hospitalised in our centre receiving comprehensive specialised medical care. He will remain under strict management and surveillance with the aim of obtaining the best results for his health and his swift return to his family," stated the hospital overseeing his treatment.

This follows a distressing episode in the fall of 2023 when Luis Manuel was kidnapped by the National Liberation Army (ELN), a group designated as a terrorist organization. He was freed on November 9 after 12 days in captivity.

Four individuals were arrested in connection with the kidnapping. One suspect, Yerdinson Bolívar, has already been sentenced to four years in prison, while the other three await trial.
