Alarming medical news has emerged from Italy concerning one of Napoli's key midfield leaders.

Details: Napoli has officially announced that 29-year-old midfielder Scott McTominay will undergo a surgical heart procedure in the coming days. According to Mundo Deportivo and official club communications, the Scotland international has been diagnosed with a mild benign heart rhythm disorder.

The medical staff confirmed that the player will undergo pulsed field ablation (PFA) surgery to correct the issue. Although the condition is not considered life-threatening, it requires immediate surgical correction before he can resume competitive football.

As a result of the planned intervention, McTominay is set to miss Scotland's upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures as well as Napoli's high-stakes Champions League clash against Arsenal. The club expects the Scottish playmaker to return to competitive action after the September international break.

It is worth noting that according to Transfermarkt, the 29-year-old Scottish midfielder's current market value stands at €32 million.

Reminder: Chelsea's young striker could join a Serie A powerhouse!
