Arsenal's head coach Mikel Arteta commented on the decisive victory over Brighton (3:0) in the 32nd round of the Premier League.

The Spanish coach spared no compliments for his team, particularly highlighting Kai Havertz, who scored a goal and provided an assist.

"The desire and love for defending from the players is there. You saw the reactions from the teammates when Gabriel blocked that shot. That's them, not me.

Havertz was tremendous again today. His overall performance has been superb and now his goal contribution is higher than anyone else in the league in the last few months. His work-rate too - he was chasing back 70 metres here. This heart and this determination, that's why everybody loves him.

Wow, I'm really happy. They [Brighton] are a really good team, really well coached. They make life really difficult for you. But today, we were outstanding. We showed quality and with the ball we are really connected. We have purpose and clarity. Against a shape that was slightly different than what we expected. Without the ball we are so disciplined.

We are older and you can tell especially on me. We went through a lot of moments together and the chemistry you build within the team. We signed some tremendous players - which helps because it is about them. And then it is a good moment because the squad is healthy. The momentum and the energy around the place is good. We've been through it already and that helps." quotes Arteta Sky Sports.

Arsenal has taken the lead in the Premier League table, surpassing Liverpool by one point. However, Liverpool will play their 32nd round match against Manchester United on Sunday, April 7th.
