The race for the Manchester United job is becoming increasingly intriguing.

Details: According to TEAMtalk, intermediaries working on behalf of Antonio Conte have renewed contact with Manchester United and made it clear that the Italian is ready to take charge at Old Trafford immediately if the club decides to replace Michael Carrick.

Conte's interest is not new. TEAMtalk reports that the former Chelsea and Tottenham head coach was already keen on the position during the summer, when people representing him held discussions with Manchester United director of football Jason Wilcox.

At that stage, however, Carrick's work during his interim spell convinced the Old Trafford hierarchy to hand him the permanent role. Conte remained interested and has now made another move as pressure on the current Manchester United head coach continues to increase.

It is worth noting that Conte is currently without a club after leaving Napoli in the summer. During his previous spell in England, the Italian won the Premier League with Chelsea in the 2016/17 season and lifted the FA Cup a year later.

Reminder: Three candidates to replace Carrick. Who will take charge of Manchester United?
