It looks like Inter Miami will keep hold of their talisman.
Details: According to insider journalist Sacha Tavolieri, American side Inter Miami have reached an agreement with 38-year-old Lionel Messi to extend his contract.
There are hints that the arrival of Rodrigo De Paul—a close friend and Argentina national teammate with whom Messi won the World Cup—played a key role in these successful negotiations.
Last season, Leo featured in 25 matches for Inter, netting 18 goals and providing 7 assists. His contract with the American giants was set to expire this December, and that uncertainty fueled speculation about Messi’s future.
Previously, Leo himself had voiced concerns about the lack of competition in MLS, which could have triggered his departure from the club. However, it now appears that Lionel Messi will indeed remain with Inter Miami.
Reminder: Together again! Rodrigo De Paul is close to joining Lionel Messi's club
