He hasn't played in over a year. Ex-Tottenham star dreams of playing at the 2026 World Cup
Former Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli, who is currently under contract with Everton, has shared his ambitious plans for the future.
"I have a reminder on my phone every single day at eleven o'clock that says: World Cup 2026. That's my aim. That's my level", – Alli said on Sky Sports.
However, there is one major problem. Dele Alli has not played football for over a year. The attacking midfielder last played a match on February 26th of last year when he was on loan at Besiktas.
Alli moved to Everton from Tottenham in January 2022 on a free transfer. However, he only played 13 matches for the "Toffees" before moving to Besiktas, where he also struggled to secure a spot in the starting lineup.
After leaving Besiktas, Alli gave a significant interview where he discussed his serious mental health issues.
For the England national team, Alli has played 37 matches, scoring 3 goals, and providing 7 assists.
