“He has helped our continent”, Samuel Eto’o shows his support for Gianni Infantino

In an interview with CNN Sports, the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation spoke highly of the FIFA president. Whilst Gianni Infantino faces unprecedented criticism following the failure of the FIFA Forward Enterprise project, Samuel Eto’o has taken a clear stance.

The president of the Cameroonian Football Federation believes that Gianni Infantino has profoundly transformed world football by offering more opportunities to nations that were previously excluded from major international competitions.

“President Gianni Infantino has changed football. He’s given opportunities to nations that didn’t have those opportunities to take part in the most beautiful tournament, the World Cup. He enabled smaller nations to get seats at these competitions.”

According to Samuel Eto’o, Gianni Infantino has contributed to the development of African football and enabled the continent’s federations to progress more rapidly.

“He has helped our continent. He’s helped our federations to develop much more quickly, and we need to acknowledge that. We need to accept and recognize what he’s done, and we should support him for everything he’s done up to now.”
