The head coach of Porto, Sergio Conceição, will part ways with the club upon the conclusion of the current season, as reported by Correio da Manha.

His contract with the "Dragons" expires in June of this year. The 49-year-old coach has already informed the club's leadership that he seeks a new challenge, hence he will not be extending his contract.

Earlier reports suggested that, owing to his connections with Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, Conceição is among the candidates to replace Xavi.

Conceição has been managing Porto since the summer of 2017. Under his guidance, the team has thrice clinched the Portuguese championship and an equal number of times secured victory in the Portuguese Cup and Super Cup.

After 19 rounds of the current season, Porto occupies the third position in the Portuguese league. They trail Sporting, the current leaders, by a margin of 5 points. In the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, Conceição's team is set to face Arsenal.
