Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca shared the latest squad updates at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League Matchweek 18 clash against Aston Villa.
Details: According to the Blues' boss, defender Jorrel Hato picked up an injury during the warm-up ahead of the Newcastle match. The issue became apparent by halftime, forcing the player to leave the pitch and ruling him out of the upcoming fixture.
"Jorrel Hato suffered an injury during the warm-up before the Newcastle game, and by halftime it was clear he couldn't continue. He's out," Maresca confirmed.
The coach also mentioned that Jamie Bynoe-Gittens had previously struggled with a shoulder problem, but the player has now fully recovered and is ready to feature against Aston Villa.
"Jamie Bynoe-Gittens had a shoulder issue even before the Newcastle match, but now he's back and feeling good. He's ready to play against Aston Villa," added the Chelsea manager.
It's worth noting that Chelsea's Premier League Matchweek 18 tie against Aston Villa takes place today, December 27, with kick-off scheduled for 18:30 Central European Time.
