Harry Maguire’s £4 million mansion flooded on New Year’s Eve
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire faced a major issue on New Year’s Eve when his £4 million mansion was flooded following heavy rains, The Sun reports.
Maguire had hosted a lively New Year’s celebration at his home with family and friends, including Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and his wife. However, after the festivities, Maguire woke up to find his garden submerged due to torrential downpours.
Maguire, his wife, and their guests worked together with pumps to remove the water and prevent it from entering the house.
“They did everything they could to stop the flood from reaching the house. It certainly wasn't the start to the year they had expected, but Harry knows it was a lot worse for others. They're assessing the damage and know it could have been a lot worse,” a source told The Sun.
According to meteorologists, Cheshire experienced a month’s worth of rainfall in just 48 hours. The flooding led to the evacuation of around 1,000 people, with some rescued using inflatable boats. Many homes in the area were severely affected.
