In the video, Shaw is seen lip-syncing a line from a song playing over the clip, repeating the phrase, “Your mum’s on benefits.”

While seemingly harmless, the video has sparked outrage among United fans, who are already frustrated with the team’s struggles this season. The backlash was so intense that Molly-Mae ended up deleting the video from her account.

Shaw has faced persistent injury issues, missing almost all of last season and continuing to struggle this year. Although he was expected to return to action after his latest setback, his recovery has been delayed. Shaw addressed the situation on Instagram, expressing his disappointment.

“Hi guys, it's hurting a lot having to write this as I really thought I had got through my recent struggles and was on a positive path going forward, but unfortunately I've had a small setback,” Shaw wrote.
