Two days ago, Cristiano Ronaldo became the first footballer in history to reach the milestone of 900 goals. Bayern Munich and England national team leader Harry Kane stated that the Portuguese icon is a role model for him, and he aspires to follow in Ronaldo’s footsteps.

Details: After yesterday's match between the Three Lions and Ireland, Kane shared that many players have elevated their game after turning thirty. Kane, now 31, was the top scorer in last season’s Bundesliga.

Throughout his career, Kane has collected numerous individual accolades, yet he has not secured a team trophy. Although Kane is far from Ronaldo’s record, with 408 goals for various clubs and the England national team, he is certainly eager to increase his tally and help his team win silverware this season.

Quote: "Cristiano is not only one of the greatest footballers in history, but also a benchmark for how long you can maintain a high level of performance," Kane told AS.

"I feel great, both physically and mentally. I’m sure there will be noise around me, as there was and still is around Cristiano, but as long as you keep performing and doing what you know you can, that’s all that matters.

"Ronaldo, Messi, Benzema, Lewandowski—they’ve all raised their game after turning thirty. Cristiano shows this every week, every time he plays, every time he scores. For me, that’s the goal."

Reminder: Harry Kane, along with Bayern Munich, has confidently started the new Bundesliga season. His team has won its first two matches and currently holds second place, trailing the leader only on goal difference. After the international break, Bayern will face another Bundesliga fixture before beginning their UEFA Champions League campaign.
