Cairo giants Al Ahly were recently knocked out of the FIFA Club World Cup, and one of Egypt’s well-known coaches, Khaled Galal, has weighed in on head coach José Riveiro’s performance.

Details: Speaking to MBC Masr, the former Zamalek manager said it’s difficult to fairly assess a coach like Riveiro based on such a tournament. Moreover, he believes the Spaniard actually did a decent job.

Quote: “It’s very hard to judge a coach like Riveiro based on a high-level tournament like the Club World Cup. He faced top-tier opponents, and his match management was quite solid,” Galal said.

Al Ahly now have two weeks of rest before regrouping to begin preparations for the upcoming season.

Reminder: José Riveiro is expected to hold a meeting with the club’s leadership to address several pressing issues, including a review of the team’s struggles during the tournament. The club’s board wants to hear the Spaniard’s evaluation of their performance.
