In the summer of 2025, Barcelona sold their centre-back Iñigo Martínez to Al Nassr, and it has now emerged that the Catalan coach wanted to keep him in the squad.

Details: According to Diario SPORT, Hansi Flick never stated it publicly, but he was opposed to the transfer and did not support it. He is displeased with how the situation unfolded and with the defender’s move to Saudi Arabia.

We recently reported that the Catalan club have reached an agreement on a new contract with centre-back Eric García. All that remains is Barcelona’s official announcement.

Barcelona travelled to face Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League and suffered a heavy 0–3 defeat. After the match, Hansi Flick shared his assessment — and made a promise to the fans.

Flick said his team must show more aggression in certain phases of play. He also vowed that supporters would soon see a different Barça.

Reminder: Financial difficulties have forced Barcelona’s management to tighten the belt in almost every area.
