Habib Beye has made one of the worst starts to a managerial tenure at Marseille
A statistic not seen in 24 years
The Senegalese tactician has equalled Albert Emon’s record.
Habib Beye is struggling at the helm of Marseille’s coaching staff. Appointed a few months ago, the Senegalese manager has racked up a string of poor results with the Marseille side.
The 3-0 defeat against Nantes on matchday 32 of the French Ligue 1 has seen Habib Beye go down on the wrong side of Marseille’s Ligue 1 history. By losing at Nantes, Beye recorded his fifth defeat in his first 10 matches as manager.
This makes him the first Marseille manager since 2002 to achieve this dismal record. Before him, only Albert Emon had suffered five defeats in his first 10 matches with Marseille in Ligue 1 in 2002.
