Oscar-winning Hollywood actress Julia Roberts will join the World XI team during the Soccer Aid charity match taking place this summer. This was announced by the official Soccer Aid account on the platform X.
It is reported that Roberts will participate in the annual charity match, which will be played on June 15 at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester. There is currently no information on what specific role she will play at this event.
Among other stars whose participation in Soccer Aid has already been confirmed are singer Louis Tomlinson, athlete Mo Farah, as well as former footballers Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, David James, and others. The England team will be coached by Wayne Rooney and Tyson Fury.
Interestingly, Julia Roberts is a personal idol of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. He mentioned this when the actress visited Manchester a few years ago.
"Julia Roberts came to England a few years ago in the period when Manchester United were not good, we were better, and she came to Manchester United, she didn’t come to us. Even if I win the Champions League, it cannot make up for Julia Roberts not coming to see us," Guardiola stated back then.
