Guardiola revealed that Haaland went through a difficult moment in his life last week
Manchester City's head coach, Pep Guardiola, commented on the performance of his star striker, Erling Haaland, who missed several opportunities in the match against Chelsea but secured the decisive goal yesterday against Brentford (1:0).
According to the Spanish coach, the Norwegian forward went through a difficult moment in his life last week.
"Never, ever criticise your top scorer, he will shout you down. Sooner or later, Erling Haaland is there. He comes from two months out, had an incredible, tough week last week, he lost his grandmother… and he's now back to scoring goals", – quoted Guardiola by Sky Sports.
In the current Premier League season, Haaland has netted 17 goals in 20 matches, leading the goal-scoring charts with a 3-goal advantage over Mohamed Salah.
It's worth noting that after scoring against Brentford, Haaland has now scored against every team in the Premier League that he has faced at least once.
