Manchester City's head coach, Pep Guardiola, provided updates on the health statuses of forward Erling Haaland and midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

He mentioned that the Norwegian forward is progressing positively, but has yet to resume full training with the team. Guardiola expressed hope that Haaland might return to the field in January.

“Haaland feels better, but he hasn’t made one training session with us. Hopefully in January he can come back with us.

De Bruyne he trained last week with us, today he had a little bit of fatigue because he’s training hard” — quotes Guardiola Fabrizio Romano.

De Bruyne had been sidelined since mid-August due to a knee ligament injury. Last week marked his return to group training with Manchester City.

Haaland had been sidelined since early December due to an injury, which caused him to miss the Club World Cup, where Manchester City emerged as champions.

Today, Erling received another individual accolade, being named the best footballer of 2023 by IFFHS.
