Previously, Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola complained about an inflated squad. Now, it seems the Spaniard is gearing up for a major shake-up within his ranks.
Details: According to the Manchester Evening News, the Citizens' boss has drawn up a list of 11 players who will be untouchable this summer. Unsurprisingly, it includes recent signings: Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Aït-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, and Omar Marmoush.
Guaranteed spots have also been reserved for the team's established veterans: Bernardo Silva, Rúben Dias, Joško Gvardiol, Rodri, Phil Foden, and Erling Haaland.
The future of Abdukodir Khusanov or Vítor Reis remains uncertain, with only one expected to stay in the squad. There's also a strong chance that Claudio Echeverri will be sent out on loan. It's been reported that Jack Grealish will be put on the transfer list, with the club expecting to fetch around £40 million for him.
Reminder: Earlier, Kyle Walker already left the team, joining Burnley on loan.
