Guardiola has recommended his Premier League rival for the Barcelona job
Catalan side Barcelona has a history of consulting with their former managers and players when it comes to coaching appointments. The Blaugrana previously consulted Johan Cruyff and when he passed away in 2016, Pep Guardiola took over the role.
According to Catalunya Radio, the ex-Catalan mentor has given his recommendations for a candidate to Barcelona president Joan Laporta and now, has shared his opinion on who should succeed Xavi.
Guardiola named Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi, and it was him who Pep had previously named as his successor at Manchester City.
Earlier it was reported that between the Italian and ex-Bayern and German national team coach Hans-Dieter Flick, Barcelona prefer to employ the former. Also, recently, the search for Xavi's successor was commented on by the blaugrana's sporting director Deco.
