By starting in the lineup, he marked his 1,000th career appearance—an incredible achievement, especially considering that Silva continues to perform at the very highest level.
Thiago Silva's career began back in 2002 with Fluminense's youth team. Since then, he's played for clubs such as Fluminense, Juventude, RS Futebol, Porto, Dynamo Moscow, AC Milan, PSG, and Chelsea in London.
Silva also made his debut for the Brazil national team in 2008, earning 113 caps for his country.
