Aston Martin star Fernando Alonso took part in the latest Formula 1 Grand Prix, which unfolded this past weekend in Montreal, Canada. The Spanish driver shared his emotions about the race on his Instagram page.
Alonso posted several photos of himself in full gear alongside his race car, captioning them: “Good weekend . P7 and points for the team . Thanks Montreal 🇨🇦🙏 @astonmartinf1 #montreal.”
It’s worth noting that Fernando truly delivered a strong performance, finishing 7th—his best result of the current season. This race earned him 6 additional points in the drivers’ standings. Alonso now has 8 points in total and sits 16th in the Formula 1 championship table.
The Canadian Grand Prix saw George Russell of Mercedes claim victory for the first time this season, outpacing Max Verstappen from Red Bull. Third place went to Russell’s Mercedes teammate, Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
Meanwhile, Oscar Piastri of McLaren continues to lead the Formula 1 standings this season.
