On Thursday, March 20, Zimbabwe will play a World Cup qualifying match against Benin. Ahead of this game, the team received significant motivation.

Details: The President of Zimbabwe promised the footballers bonuses in case of victories over Benin and Nigeria — $150,000 for each win.

Quote: "In recognition of the team's efforts and as an incentive, His Excellency President Emmerson D. Mnangagwa has offered the players, coaching staff, and support personnel a victory bonus of $150,000 for each win in the upcoming matches against Benin and Nigeria," read a statement from the Zimbabwe Football Association.

It should be noted that Zimbabwe currently sits at the bottom of their qualifying group, having earned only two points from four rounds. They trail the second team by five points, making victories crucial for the team to re-enter the race for a spot in the 2026 World Cup.

Reminder: The Dailysports team has prepared the schedule and results of the fifth round of the African qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
