Gomora United coach Ashley Makhanya on their Nedbank Cup clash against Mamelodi Sundowns: They want to regain their confidence at our expense
That Mamelodi Sundowns lost to Al HIlal on Friday is something which will see them run riot against Gomora United this evening in a Nedbank Cup last-32 match.
This is according to the National First Division side coach Ashley Makhanya as they face a Sundowns team which lost 2-1 in Rwanda against Sudanese side Al Hilal in a Caf Champions League match.
Makhanya’s United face the mighty Sundowns this evening at Loftus Versveld and expectation is that Miguel Cardoso’s men will beat their Motsepe Foundation Championship counterparts.
“I don’t think from our perspective, we look too much into that they lost their recent match in the Champions League. That is way above our level,” said Makhanya.
“I don’t think we look at them and say they are there for the taking. Infact, that makes them even more dirty-minded come Wednesday from that defeat.
“This game is perfect for them because after a defeat the best way is to recover. We know we are in big trouble because of that.
“They are going to come firing from all cylinders just to get their confidence and morale back. So we know from the beginning of the match it’s going to be tough.”
The match starts at 7pm.
