Giroud has been disqualified for insulting a referee
Forward of the Italian club, Milan, Olivier Giroud was punished for insulting referee Rosario Abisso.
According to the official website of Serie A, the experienced forward of the French national team was disqualified for two matches of the national championship.
The scandalous episode happened in the match of the 12th round of the Italian Serie A, in which Milan played against Lecce (2:2). The referee showed the Frenchman a yellow card for breaking the rules in the 90+3 minute. The footballer flew into a rage and began to insult Abisso, which resulted in a red card.
According to the decision of the disciplinary authorities, the forward behaved inappropriately and a disqualification of one match will not be enough.
Thus, Giroud will not play for Milan on November 25 in the 13th round with Fiorentina, as well as on December 2 in the 14th round against Frosinone.
This season, Giroud has played for Milan in 15 matches across all competitions, scoring eight goals and making three assists.
