Girona have agreed a deal to sign the Marseille goalkeeper. He is a trainee of the Catalan club
Girona has agreed to sign Marseille goalkeeper Pau López, according to Fabrizio Romano, citing L’Équipé.
It is reported that this will be a one-year loan with an option to buy. The €6.5 million buyout clause is not mandatory. The player's salary will be fully covered by Girona.
The goalkeeper still needs to undergo a medical examination, after which the deal will be officially announced.
The 29-year-old López is a product of Girona's youth academy and a native of the city. The Spaniard has been playing for Marseille since the summer of 2022, with Olympique paying €12 million for the player.
Last season, the goalkeeper played 49 matches across all competitions, keeping 11 clean sheets.
Earlier, it was reported that Girona rejected transfer offers for a winger without his knowledge.
