GIft Links not considered as 'Bafana Bafana' material comments by Hugo Broos has left the player disappointed and shocked
Gift Link’s agency is not happy with Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos.
Their disappointment is not the fact that the former Cape Town City winger is not in Bafana’s latest squad to face Zambia on Saturday.
Links, who plays for Aarhus GF in Denmark, has not been part of Broos’ Bafana squads for a long while despite receiving plaudits from Danish media and football followers in general in that country.
When asked after announcing his 23-man squad last Thursday, Broos said Links was not at the required international level to be considered for the national side.
This, also is not what infuriated his agency. But that, despite being excluded from the national set-up Links has managed to keep quiet about his lack of call-ups. And having done that then he receives criticism from the Belgian coach is what irked their ire.
“The fact remains that he has not once complained, gone to the media or spoken out.,” Links’ agent Paul Mitchell, Links' representative, told Soccerladuma.
“He’s gotten his head down like all players should do and he’s worked, and that’s why he was flabbergasted by the comments. He’s upset, and naturally so because the comments were disrespectful.”
