The opening match of the European Football Championship between Germany and Scotland will take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich on 14 June.

Both teams played two friendlies each before the face-to-face match in June. The Germans drew with Ukraine (0-0) and also defeated Greece (2-1). The Scottish team's sparring partners were much more modest: Gibraltar (2-0) and Finland (2-2).

The Germans are approaching the match in optimal conditions. Bundestim head coach Julian Nagelsmann will be able to count on all the players, which can not be said about his teammates.

Steve Clarke recently lost KCP striker Lyndon Dykes to a serious injury and it is envisaged that he will be replaced by Lawrence Shankland. Also, Andrew Robertson did not train with the squad on Monday, although it is noted that this was only as a precaution.

The head coach of the German national team spoke to the UEFA press office before the start of the tournament, and here's how he spoke about his ambitions for this tournament:

"The usual ambitions: we want to win the tournament. It's the same in all other tournaments. Probably we shouldn't make loud statements that we will become European champions. I think the same goes for every country that participates in the tournament.

I believe that otherwise they wouldn't make the effort to qualify. Every team that gets to the tournament has the idea of winning it."

His vis-à-vis Steve Clarke spoke to the Scottish FA press office and admitted that his charges' preparation for the tournament had been very difficult, as had Dykes' injury:

"I'll be honest, it was a very difficult pre-camp period. There were so many variables. You can deal with early injuries because you have time to prepare and find replacements. Those players have time to get over the disappointment.

Then we went into pre-camp and got Dykes injured, which scared the 27 other players who were in the line-up at the time. That's not something you like to see when one of your teammates is carried off on a stretcher."

The German media, even three days before the match, named the squad that Nagelsmann will field for the match against Scotland and, if the press is to be believed, the following players will represent the Bunedstim in their first match at the Euros:

Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, Antonio Rüdiger, Maximilian Mittelstadt, Toni Kroos, Robert Andrich, Jamal Musiala, İlkay Gündoğan, Florian Wirtz and Kai Havertz.

It is also noted that Niclas Füllkrug, Leroy Sané and Pascal Gross also have a good chance of getting game time.

Scottish media do not have such information, so we only have to guess what lineup Clark will put out for the match with Germany.

Putting all the factors together, the Dailysports team has prepared predicted line-ups for Germany vs Scotland.

Germany's predicted line-up

Neuer - Kimmich, Tah, Rüdiger, Mittelstadt - Kroos, Andrich - Musiala, Gündogan - Wirtz - Havertz.

Scotland predicted line-up

The match between Germany and Scotland will open not only the Group A meetings, but also the whole European Championship. The starting whistle at the Allianz Arena in Munich will sound at 21:00 CET.
