Germany has two UEFA Nations League matches ahead, and it's time to announce the squad for these games. It seemed like a routine announcement, but an unusual situation occurred.
Details: According to AP News, a player from Latvia’s national team was mistakenly included in Germany's squad list. The name appeared on the official site as Dario Šits, a 20-year-old forward who plays in the second division in the Netherlands.
Last month, he made his debut for Latvia's national team, and in 2022, he played against Germany with the Latvian youth team.
Šits' name was quickly removed from the list. The German Football Association explained it as a "technical error in the database."
Germany will play on November 16 and 19, having already secured a place in the Nations League playoffs.
Reminder: Germany’s head coach Julian Nagelsmann has called up one debutant—Manchester City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.
