For a long time now, Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson has been linked with leaving the Griffins for another team, but the club themselves are demanding that suitors for the Icelander fulfil one requirement.

It was voiced by the Genoa club's director Andres Blazquez, who emphasised that the club are ready to let the striker go if a good offer comes in for him:

‘We have had offers for Albert, but none of them fulfil our requirements. I understand his desire to leave at the best moment of his career, but Genoa are more important to us than anything else.

We can't let Albert leave until we find a solution that suits us at the same level or even better’. As of today, Albert will not leave.

We have never received an official offer from Inter. Many clubs have shown interest. Fiorentina made an offer but we didn't accept it. I think Inter are also interested, but there are no offers yet.

If the offers are unconvincing and we don't find a suitable replacement, we will 100% keep Albert. We will be happy to keep him and he will not be so disappointed,’ Blazquez is quoted by Tuttosport.

Earlier it was reported that the Icelander is facing rape allegations in his home country.
