FIFA is making a generous move towards the teams participating in the 2026 World Cup.

Details: According to NYTIMES, FIFA's leadership intends to increase the prize money for the countries competing in the upcoming tournament.

It is reported that previously, each team was expected to earn a minimum of $10.5 million, with the champion taking home $50 million. However, after recalculating the expected profits, FIFA's management decided to raise the prize pool, as projections now show FIFA will rake in over $11 billion from the upcoming World Cup.

Previously, many fans criticized FIFA for the sky-high ticket prices for World Cup matches, but as we can see, this approach also brings its benefits.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, across three North American countries: the USA, Canada, and Mexico. This will be the first World Cup featuring 48 teams, with the final set for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (USA).

Reminder: Scandalous prices. Tickets for the 2026 World Cup final selling for 2 million euros
