Scandalous prices. Tickets for the 2026 World Cup final selling for 2 million euros
Record-breaking and shocking prices for the 2026 World Cup final have been spotted on FIFA's official ticket resale platform. With less than two months to go before the tournament kicks off, the cost of certain tickets has triggered a storm of reactions from fans across the globe.
According to The Guardian, four category 1 tickets for the final—set to take place on July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in New York—have been listed at roughly $2.3 million each, which is just under 2 million euros per seat. The total for the set of four tickets exceeds $9.1 million.
FIFA stresses that it does not set resale prices—these are determined by individual sellers on the official platform. Even the more "affordable" options remain out of reach for most supporters: the cheapest final tickets are priced at around 10,000 euros.
The situation is fueling criticism of FIFA, which has already faced backlash over rising ticket costs. The scandal is intensifying as the tournament, set to take place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026, draws near.
