Gavi is close to returning to the pitch! The Spaniard last played in August 2025
Barcelona and Spain midfielder Gavi could be back in action as early as March.
Details: According to The Touchline, the 21-year-old Barcelona star is set to make his return to the field in the near future. Despite a prolonged recovery, the club plans to ease him back into competitive play, carefully managing his workload to avoid setbacks.
Despite Frenkie de Jong’s injury, Barcelona’s head coach Hansi Flick does not intend to take risks with Gavi and will continue to give starting opportunities to younger players. Flick holds Gavi in high regard, considering him one of the team's top talents, capable of influencing the outcome of any match.
For the record, Gavi last appeared on the pitch back in August 2025, when he suffered a knee injury. He has already missed 38 matches for Barcelona this season, and this was his second major injury layoff, sidelining him for over 200 days despite his young age.
