Barcelona continue to dazzle at Camp Nou. In Matchday 26 of La Liga, the Catalans thrashed Villarreal 4-1, extending their home winning streak in the competition to an impressive 13 matches.
This puts current Barça boss Hansi Flick third on the list of managers with the longest home winning runs in La Liga in the 21st century. Only Pep Guardiola (15 straight home wins in the 2010/11 season) and Ernesto Valverde (14 wins in 2019) are ahead of him.
It’s worth noting that Barcelona’s next three La Liga fixtures are also at home—against Sevilla, Rayo Vallecano, and Espanyol—meaning Guardiola’s incredible record could be toppled as early as April.
Recall, the star of the match was Lamine Yamal, who netted his first career hat-trick. The 18-year-old Spaniard became the first player under 19 in 59 years to score three goals in a single La Liga match.
