Gattuso has suspended Hajduk's main star from the team. What happened?

The head coach of Croatian club Hajduk Split, Gennaro Gattuso, has suspended former Inter Milan winger Ivan Perišić from working with the team.
The 35-year-old Croatian star did not travel with the team from Split for their second-round match of the Croatian championship against Lokomotiva Zagreb.
According to the Croatian publication Jutarnji List, the reason for the renowned Italian's decision was a disciplinary breach by Perišić during the team's last training session on Saturday, August 10.
Perišić has been with Hajduk since January. In the second half of last season, the winger played 8 matches for the Split-based team and scored 1 goal.
It’s worth noting that Gattuso recently made headlines for an unusual outburst during a press conference, where he harshly criticized one of his players. The Italian took over as Hajduk's coach in early July 2024.
