Gaston Sirino is back for Kaizer Chiefs for their blockbuster showdown against Zamalek in the Caf Confederation Cup this Saturday
Gaston Sirino is back in contention for a place in the Kaizer Chiefs starting line-up against Egyptian giants Zamalek.
Given the assertions by Ben Youssef Khalid after Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Al-Masry, Chiefs need a player of Sirino’s calibre against Zamalek.
Youssef Khalid decried the team’s lack of experience in African competitions as the reason they fell to in North Africa.
Sirino is loaded in that regard as he has been a Caf Champions League regular while with former club Mamelodi Sundowns.
And the Zamalek showdown does need players with big match temperament but Sirino’s temper at times is his downfall.
For the match at Suez Stadium, the Uruguayan was suspended for bookings he received in the preliminary stages of the competition.
The creative and technical ability of Sirino is what should boost Amakhosi at Peter Mokaba Stadium for the Saturday clash against the high-flying Egyptians who won against Zesco United 1-0 last weekend.
The match at Polokwane’s Peter Mokaba starts at 3pm.
