Gaël Kakuta will no longer play football. The 35-year-old Congolese has decided to call it a day following the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s recent exit from the 2026 World Cup.
The attacking midfielder is hanging up his boots after playing in several leagues. Among others, he has represented Chelsea, the club where he came through the ranks, as well as Fulham, Lazio, Amiens, Lens, Rayo Vallecano, Sevilla FC and AEL Larissa.
For the DR Congo national team, he has 31 caps and five goals to his name. He made his mark with the Leopards, leaving a lasting impression as a player with great vision and technical ability.
