The sale of Joao Paulinha to Bayern Munich has freed up money for Fulham for incoming transfers, and it is for this that the Gunners are set to make the most expensive purchase in the club's history.
According to Sky Sports, the London side is in talks with their neighbours Arsenal over the transfer of midfielder Emile Smith Rowe.
The talks themselves have not yet reached the finish line, there is still a lot of work to be done, but they are still progressing positively.
The key here is the price. A price tag of £35m is under discussion, and if Fulham pay that price, it will be the most expensive transfer fee in the club's history.
Smith-Rowe is keen on a move, and the 23-year-old's main motivation has always been to make regular appearances in the main squad, which Mikel Arteta cannot provide him with.
