From the injury ward to the classroom! Tottenham star midfielder Xavi Simons enrolls at Harvard
The London club's star midfielder has found a productive way to make the most of a lengthy break from his sporting career by investing in his education.
Details: Tottenham and Netherlands attacking midfielder Xavi Simons has officially enrolled in the Crossover into Business online program at the prestigious Harvard Business School while recovering from a serious knee injury.
The 23-year-old footballer was sidelined after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, undergoing surgery and beginning a lengthy rehabilitation process. To combine his recovery with personal development, the Dutchman decided to immerse himself in the study of sports business and commerce.
The educational course was developed by leading Harvard professors specifically for elite professional athletes from around the world. The program allows athletes to master the fundamentals of strategic management, investing and marketing under the guidance of experts and MBA students.
It is worth noting that Xavi Simons came through Barcelona's academy and has played for French side Paris Saint-Germain, Dutch club PSV and German outfit RB Leipzig, establishing himself as one of the most creative playmakers in European football and a key player for the Netherlands national team.
