From Man City Bench to Serie A Starter: Perrone Sold to Como
Argentine midfielder Máximo Perrone has completed a permanent move to Como after Manchester City agreed to a €13 million deal, as confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano. The 21-year-old, who made only two substitute appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side, will now continue his career in Italy under the guidance of Cesc Fàbregas.
The deal marks a solid return for City, who initially signed Perrone from Vélez Sarsfield for €10 million in January 2023. Though they had valued him at €20 million recently, they opted for a quicker sale while still securing a profit of €3 million.
Perrone’s impact at Como has been more substantial. In his loan spell, he played 24 matches and recorded 3 assists, missing 10 games due to injury. His performances convinced sporting director Carlalberto Ludi to pursue a permanent transfer after his loan expired on June 30.
Como also retained fellow Argentine Nico Paz, as Real Madrid shelved plans to trigger his buyback clause this summer. With both young talents staying put, Fàbregas has a promising base to build on for the upcoming Serie A season.
