Siyethemba Sithebe's career has taken one of the sharpest turns imaginable.

Details: Former Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe has been unveiled by Flamingo FC, who compete in Stream B of the SAFA King Cetshwayo Hollywoodbets Regional League. The competition represents the fourth level of South African football.

The 33-year-old midfielder had been without a club for an extended period following his difficult spell at Richards Bay. Sithebe joined the top-flight side in July 2024 after leaving Kaizer Chiefs, but managed only eight appearances across all competitions before his contract was terminated.

His departure followed a disciplinary dispute connected to an incident in the dressing room. Richards Bay officials accused the experienced midfielder of misconduct during an exchange with members of the technical team. Sithebe later explained that he had been speaking out as a senior player because he disagreed with several coaching decisions after a defeat.

Before his short stay at Richards Bay, Sithebe spent two seasons with Kaizer Chiefs and made 39 appearances in all competitions. His most productive period came at AmaZulu, where he registered 132 appearances, eight goals and nine assists before earning his move to the Soweto giants.

Now the midfielder will attempt to relaunch his career far away from the South African top flight. Flamingo FC have added a player with extensive professional experience to their regional-league squad. It is worth noting that Transfermarkt's latest valuation, updated in April 2026, places Sithebe's market value at €150,000.
